BTS member Jungkook’s first solo album GOLDEN has surpassed 100,000 copies sold in the United Kingdom.
GOLDEN has been awarded BRIT Certified Gold status by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). According to the World Music Awards (WMA), Jungkook is now the first K-pop solo artist ever to receive a Gold certification in the UK.
Jungkook’s debut solo single “Seven” sold over 400,000 copies in the UK, earning its own BRIT Certified Gold certification. “Standing Next to You” and “3D” each surpassed 200,000 copies sold in the UK, both receiving Silver certifications.
GOLDEN remained on the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100 for eight weeks — the longest any album by a K-pop solo artist has ever charted there. “Seven” entered the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 at number three and went on to chart for 14 weeks, another first for a K-pop solo artist. Jungkook also set a record by simultaneously charting four songs on the UK Official Top 100 for two consecutive weeks.
In the United States, GOLDEN spent 25 weeks on the Billboard 200 — the longest run ever for an album by an Asian solo artist on that chart. Following its release, it reached number one on iTunes album charts in 106 countries and territories worldwide, holding the top spot on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart for 14 days and on the European iTunes Album Chart for over seven days.
On Spotify, GOLDEN surpassed 7 billion cumulative streams in the shortest time ever achieved by an Asian solo artist’s album, and stands as the fastest Asian act’s studio album to reach that milestone on the platform.
