A South Korean singer and actress, born Kim Jisoo on January 3, 1995. She is the eldest member and lead vocalist of BLACKPINK. She founded her own label Blissoo in February 2024 and signed a global deal with Warner Records in January 2025. Her fandom is called BLINK (shared with BLACKPINK).
Jisoo was the last of the four BLACKPINK members to debut as a solo artist — and arguably the one who had built the most anticipation by the time she did.
Before the solo debut
Jisoo’s individual presence was established long before her first solo release. As BLACKPINK’s lead vocalist, she was consistently the member most praised for emotional depth and warmth on stage. Outside music, she built one of the most significant fashion profiles in K-pop: she is a global ambassador for Dior, Cartier, and Dyson, and was named the most-mentioned celebrity at New York Fashion Week in 2024.
Her first solo moment came in 2023 with the single album ME and its lead track “꽃 (FLOWER)” — released while still under YG Entertainment. It became the best-selling solo album by a female K-pop artist in Korean history at the time, with one million preorders (the first Korean female soloist to reach that figure), and topped the Billboard Global Excl. US chart. She departed YG for solo activities shortly after, establishing Blissoo and beginning work on a proper debut project.
Amortage
Jisoo’s debut solo EP Amortage was released on Valentine’s Day 2025, through Blissoo and Warner Records — the last of the four BLACKPINK members to release a full solo project. Four tracks built around the emotional stages of love, produced in Seoul and Los Angeles. The title is a blend of “amor” (Latin for love) and “montage.”
The lead single “Earthquake” debuted at number one on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart. The EP topped the South Korea Albums Chart, accumulated nearly 500 million global streams, and received warm reviews from Billboard, NME, and Nylon. Jisoo co-wrote all four tracks.
Following the release, she held the fanmeet tour Lights, Love, Action! across seven cities in Asia.
Eyes Closed and acting
In October 2025, Jisoo released “Eyes Closed” — a collaboration with Zayn, released through Warner Records. The song debuted at number 72 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first BLACKPINK member to chart on the Hot 100 as a standalone solo act without the group’s name attached. It also reached number 10 on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart and pushed her past one billion cumulative Spotify streams — the fastest a Korean female solo artist has reached that milestone.
Beyond music, Jisoo has built a parallel acting career. She starred in the Prime Video zombie drama Newtopia in February 2025 and made her film debut in Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy the same year. In 2026, she stars in the Netflix romantic drama Boyfriend on Demand alongside Seo In Guk.
Back with BLACKPINK
Jisoo rejoined BLACKPINK for the Deadline World Tour — the group’s first all-stadium world tour, running from July 2025 to January 2026 — and for the group’s EP Deadline, released February 2026. BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to headline Wembley Stadium during the tour.
Where to start listening
“꽃 (FLOWER)” (2023) — The debut single. The record-breaker that put her solo identity on the map before Amortage existed.
“Earthquake” (2025) — The Amortage lead single. Confident and emotionally direct, and the clearest statement of where she’s headed.
“Eyes Closed” (feat. Zayn) (2025) — Her biggest international crossover moment, and the one that made all four BLACKPINK members Hot 100 soloists.
