A six-member boy group under Belift Lab, a label of HYBE, debuted in November 2020. The group was formed through the idol reality survival program I-LAND, making their origins more transparent and public-facing than many K-pop acts.
Their name is inspired by the hyphen punctuation mark — just as a hyphen connects words to create new meaning, ENHYPEN represents the idea of growing by connecting people, generations, and worlds. Their fanbase is called ENGENE.
